Summer is here and that means, for many of us, it’s a time to kick start a summer body diet. Perhaps not militantly, because why would we go without cake and chocolate for too long, right? But for me, I’m just a little more cautious, and this bought me to this recipe: Grilled Peaches.
I remember once I went to a restaurant in a town nearby and on their specials menu was a Ricotta Cake with grilled peaches and candy floss. I know. Candy floss. The grilled peaches went beautifully with the cake and I have been a fan ever since. In the dessert steaks, I think peaches go a little unnoticed. As a result, they’re an underrated little gem.
PIMP UP YOUR GRILLED PEACHES
The recipe can be adapated how you’d like to be as healthy or as unhealthy as you want. You could have it for breakfast with some creme fraiche and some granola and berries. How about serving it with some ice cream or some cinnamon and brown sugar, which is super popular. Or you could even pile on top of a pile of pancakes.
For me, I used some of my caramel sauce – a recipe which will be coming up towards the end of the month! There is a bitterness which comes from the charred griddle marks, which compliments both the sweetness of the peaches and of the caramel sauce perfectly. Kind of nulls the health benefits though, doesn’t it?
